Community Input

Community feedback and involvement is vitally important to the formation, implementation and accountability of the St. Louis Economic Development Strategy for the City of St. Louis. In October and November, we visited with residents and business owners at neighborhood and business district meetings. Thanks to resident feedback, we are hitting pause on meetings until the draft Strategy report is ready for public review. As the Board of Aldermen, City of St. Louis, SLDC and community partners will be responsible for Strategy implementation, we want to find informed consensus on the Strategy’s goals, decision-making process and communications protocols.

The ultimate success of this strategy, which seeks to increase jobs, support businesses and create more economic opportunities for all St. Louisans, depends on you.

There are many ways for the public to provide feedback as the project progresses. In July, we hosted two open houses to ask City of St. Louis residents, stakeholders and employees about their thoughts on jobs, barriers to employment and business growth, areas for improvement and City assets.

The Strategy team has finished gathering data about the City and its economy. To help with that effort, the St. Louis Development Corporation (SLDC) appointed an Advisory Committee to help inform the study process and pass information back to the community.
